Pachelbels Canon
Johann Pachelbel, 1653 in Nürnberg geboren, war ein deutscher Barock Komponist, Orgelspieler und Lehrer. Eine der berühmtesten – und wiedererkennbarsten – klassischen Kompositionen, der Canon in D-Dur, ursprünglich für drei Geigen und Basso continuo geschrieben, stammt von ihm.
Pachelbel wurde von seiner Mitwelt als ein ausgesprochen perfekter Virtuose anerkannt.
Multi-Instrumentalist Steve Mandera, geboren 1957, stammt aus der Nähe von Sheffield (UK). Seine Jugend wurde geprägt sowohl von der inspirierenden Schönheit der Yorkshire Dales als auch von der schroffen englischen Nordseeküste. Dieses breite Spektrum an Einflüssen findet sich in seiner Musik wieder und macht seine Kompositionen zu kleinen Reisen durch Zeit, Raum und Klang.

Johann Pachelbel - a German Baroque composer, organist and teacher - was born in Nuremberg in 1653. Pachelbel wrote one of the most famous, and instantly recognisable, classical compositions: the Canon in D major. The work was originally entended for three violins and basso continuo. Pachelbel was considered by his contemporaries to be one of the outstanding, excellent virtuosi of his day.
Multi-instrumentalist Steve Mandera was born on the outskirts of Sheffield (UK) in 1957. He grew up very much influenced by the sights and sounds of his beloved Yorkshire Dales and the inspiring beauty of the rugged North Sea coastline. This wide spectrum of influences have found their way into Steve’s music, turning his compositions into precious journeys through time, space and sound.
